GD CLAY SCHOOL
Welcome to Gertrude Designs Clay School- a two hour class where I guide you through the process of creating your very own collection of polymer clay earrings.

COURSE DETAILS:
Two hour class
8 participants max. per class
Hosted by Jess at ARC Energise (56 Georgina Cres, Yarrawonga)

WHAT IS INVOLVED:
In this two hour class you will be taught the basics of making polymer clay earrings, including how to pick a complimentary colour palette to create beautiful earrings, how to condition your clay for use, how to create your earring design, and how to cut out your earring components. All equipment and supplies are provided for you to create beautiful earrings. All you need to bring is yourself!

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE FOR THE CLASS?
You are most welcome to rock up ready to learn, without any prior knowledge of earring making. However, you will likely get the most from the class if you arrive with a design idea/and or a colour palette in mind. We will initially create an design that consists of 3-4 colours (one main colour as the base, with 2-3 colours on top as a pattern/design). So have a browse online! Find some colour palettes and designs (i.e spots, stripes) that you might like.

WHAT WILL WE CREATE WITH?
We will be using polymer clay, and an assortment of texturing tools in order to create our earrings. Please note we will NOT be working with any of the following: metallic leaf, glitter, resin, pigments, water transfers etc. We will focus on clay and textures only.
HOW MANY EARRINGS WILL I MAKE?
This is entirely dependent on the speed of the class. We aim to make one multi-coloured earring design (using 3-4 different colours) which you should be able to cut 4-5 pairs of earrings from (one large design, two smaller designs, and studs) IF there is any remaining time permitting, you MAY be able to make a pair of single coloured earrings- please note this may not occur and depends on time remaining in the class.
I do try my hardest to help facilitate an environment in which you don't feel rushed and stressed, whilst also helping you get the most of the two hours.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY EARRINGS AFTER CLASS?
I will take your clay components home, bake them, sand them and assemble them. During class I will chat to you to make sure I know which components match up - if I am unsure I will contact you after class, before I assemble them. Please note your colour of jumps rings (the little rings attaching your components together) is determined by what I have available and what I believe will be the most cohesive option to compliment your colour choices.

WHEN DO I GET MY EARRINGS BACK?
I aim to have your earrings ready to pick up 7 days after your course. Should there be a delay to this turnaround you will be notified by email, DM, or text. Your earrings will be available to be picked up from ARC Energise (the same place you did your course) from the cafe counter. You will receive either an email, DM, or text message when your earrings are ready to be collected. You earrings will NOT be carded, but they will come with backings and be placed inside a GD paper bag as per local pickups.
WHEN ARE CLASSES RUN?
Class times vary depending on my availability to run them! We also factor in the availability of ARC Energise. To see when the next course is available and to book in please use the booking form below.

DO YOU DO PRIVATE CLASSES?
Watch this space! I hope to offer private classes in the next few months. If you would like to express your interest, I would love to talk to you further about booking private classes! Please contact me at hello@gertrudedesigns.com to discuss this further.
